Edward Hirst one of the old settlers of the county and a highly respected citizen of Yountsville died at his home Sunday evening at 7:15 o'clock, aged 64. He was born in England and came to this county about 1867 and took service in the Yount Woolen Mills and has ever since remained there. For many years he has held the responsible position of wool sorter and was one of the best judges of wool in the state. He was married in 1869 to Miss Hannah Chaffer and she with four children, Mrs. Walter Smith; Willim and Fred hirtst of Chicago and Mrs. Charles Taylor of Yountsville survive him. In religious belief he wa a Methodist and practice he was an honest, law abiding citizen. His illness had dated back to June and had been complicated in its nature. The direct cause of his death was pneumonia and for a couple of days prior to his death he was unconscious. The funeral will take place at the residence Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock and will be conducted by Rev. Mr. Williams. Interment at Oak Hill.
